About Kelly
Kelly Hope is a 23-year old singer-songwriter about to take the country
music world by storm. Born in Albury, NSW, Kelly has been performing and
writing her own songs since the age of 14. Most recently, Kelly has released her debut single "Heartbreak Road" late in 2006 and she graduated from Tamworth College of Country Music in January 2007.
But her achievements as singer-songwriter began many years ago. After travelling the Australian Country Music circuit,
supporting such artists as Troy Cassar-Daley and Lee Kernaghan, Kelly
recorded her first EP in 2003 titled "Summer Train". This EP included four
covers together with two original tracks "Wait for Tomorrow" and "Summer
Train".
In January 2005, Kelly was a top 20 finalist in the Toyota Starmaker Competition in Tamworth , and onstage she's
been the main attraction of both International and Australian crowds ever
since. With powerful vocals and strong lyrics, Kelly's originality and
stage presence is like no other in the country music industry.
In 2005, Kelly completed her first US tour that included studio time with
one of Nashville 's most prestigious producers Bill Warner (Faith Hill, Alan
Jackson, Jewel, Natalie Imbruglia).
It was here that she was introduced to
legendary country songwriter Jim Owens who has written songs for many of
Country's greats including Hank Williams, George Jones, and Loretta Lyn.
Jim was so impressed by Kelly's talent that he insisted that she record one
of his songs "You Make Me Wanna Cheat".
This track, along with nine originals, is included on Kelly's debut album, scheduled for release late 2006. "Recording this album was one of the best times of my life. Country Music has come such a long way in recent years and I am so privileged to be a part of such a great industry."
It hasn't been an easy ride for Kelly, far from it, in fact. As with most in the music industry, Kelly has met many obstacles and challenges along the way.
But it is her determination to succeed that ensures she can overcome anything life throws her way. "Life is full of ups and downs but the most important thing is to make the most of every opportunity. This is just the
beginning for me. The best is yet to come."
